Larong Ahedres 2026 is an open invitational rapid chess tournament presented by R1 Sports PH on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with an 8:00 AM assembly time. The tagline says it plainly — Make Your Move. Be The Champion. The event runs seven rounds of Swiss System play at a rapid time control of 15 minutes plus a 3-second delay per move. It is open to all chess classifications — Open, Juniors, Kiddies, Masters and Non-Masters alike — across four age divisions: Open (18 and above), Juniors (13–17), Seniors (60 and above) and Kiddies (7–12). The playing venue is now confirmed — the Lower Grounds of Vista Mall Santa Rosa in Santa Rosa, Laguna, the tournament's official venue partner. ₱42,000 in cash prizes is on the line, along with trophies, medals and merchandise for the champions and placers, plus special awards for the Best Woman Chess Player and the Best Senior Chess Player. The entry fee includes snacks and refreshments. Early Bird registration runs from August 21 to September 15, 2026 and is online only through the official Google Form. Walk-in rates apply after September 15. This tournament was originally announced for September 19, 2026 with the venue to be announced. R1 Sports PH's revised poster moves it to October 3, 2026 at Vista Mall Santa Rosa and raises the walk-in rates.
