The Municipality of Lapuyan, in cooperation with One Chess Movement (OCM) and the PagZamSur Professional Chess Players Association, presents the 1st I-Sulong Mo! Araw ng Lapuyan Open Rapid Chess Tournament 2026 on Sunday, October 11, 2026, 9:00 AM at the Mega Gym, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur. Open to all players, Filipino or foreign. Champion takes ₱15,000 plus a trophy, with cash prizes down to 15th place, Top Lapuyan Players prizes and special awards. Free lunch and snacks for all players, a free shuttle bus from Pagadian to Lapuyan and back, and free accommodation for all non-Zamboanga del Sur players. Rated for the official Philippine local rating. Hosted under Mayor Nelsa B. Sulong and Vice Mayor Joel B. Sulong. A 15 & Under sibling event runs the day before, October 10.
