The 5th leg of the Metropolitan Chess Center's Invitational Standard Training Games runs over two days, Saturday and Sunday, October 17 to 18, 2026, on the 3rd floor of Starmall EDSA-Shaw in Mandaluyong. Play runs from 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with round 1 starting at 10:10 AM. This is a 2000 and below event: seven rounds of Swiss System at 40 minutes plus a 2-second increment. It is open to all untitled players and invited masters, regardless of age and gender, who are in good standing with MCC. The event is non-rated — FIDE Standard ratings are used for ranking purposes only. MCC's stated objective is to revive playing at longer time controls, which it argues helps players practise and refine the mental processes needed during analysis. Entry is Php 400 for Milo Checkmate current enrollees and masters, and Php 500 for everyone else. Registration is online only — there is no onsite registration.
