The Coach Vir Alba Rapid Chess Tournament is a one-day open rapid event on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Checkpoint Mall, Calamba City, Laguna. Round 1 starts 10:00 AM. Open to all players — a 7-round Swiss at 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment. Champion takes ₱3,000 plus a trophy, with cash prizes to 10th place and nine ₱300 special prizes (Top Senior, Top Female, Top Unrated, age-group and rating-group prizes). Registration is ₱300 online until October 9, ₱400 onsite, and ₱200 for kiddies 13 years old and below. Organized by the Calamba Chess Society with the Calauan Chess Association. Due to space constraints, limited players only on a first-come, first-served basis.
