Cebu Chess Asia brings the BTC U18 Youth Chess Challenge to Banilad Town Centre in Cebu City on Saturday, October 24, 2026 — a one-day double bill open to all youth players under 18. The day opens with the Rapid: six rounds of Swiss at 15 minutes plus a 2-second increment, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The Blitz follows straight after — five rounds at 5 minutes plus 2 seconds — and play wraps up by 6:30 PM. Both events pay cash down to 10th place. The Rapid champion takes ₱4,000 and the Blitz champion ₱2,000, and each section adds ₱300 special awards for Top Under 8, Top Under 12 and Top Lady. Entry is by online registration only — there is no onsite registration, and the field is capped at 80 players. Early rates run until October 15: ₱300 Rapid, ₱200 Blitz, or ₱450 for both.
