The Municipality of Kitaotao and the Kitaotao Chess Club present the 2nd Mayor Edwin P. Abucayan Chess Cup — a Rapid Chess Tournament held in celebration of the 60th Araw ng Kitaotao. June 13, 2026, 9:00 AM at the Kitaotao Municipal Hall & Lobby, Kitaotao, Bukidnon. 7 Rounds, Swiss System (Rapid 15+2). Two divisions — Open and 16 & Under — with cash prizes of up to ₱15,000 for the Open Category plus special awards. In coordination with LGU Kitaotao, Kitaotao Chess Club, and Bukidnon United Chess Club.

In celebration of the 60th Araw ng Kitaotao. Time Control: 15 minutes + 2 seconds increment. Scoring system: 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. Ground rules: FIDE Laws of Chess will govern the games. Special Awards (Open Category) — ₱1,000 + Medal each: Top Kitaotao, Top Lady, Top Senior, Top College, Top 2 Bukidnon. Special Awards (16 & Under) — ₱300 + Medal each: Top Kitaotao, Top 14 & Under, Top 12 & Under, Top 8 & Under, Top Youngest Player. Tournament Officials: NA Arsiel Bestudio, NA Jeffrey Maniego, NA Anatolio Penados Jr, NA Lorenzo Cuizon Jr, RA Randolph Christopher Dalauta.
