The 5th Mayor Gustilo Cup — "The Battle of the Great Minds, The Negros Chess Encounter" — is a two-day open rapid chess tournament at Park Marina, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on October 3–4, 2026, presented by the San Carlos-Negros Chess Club. A 9-round Swiss rapid played at 25 minutes + 5 seconds increment, with a ₱30,000 champion's purse plus trophy and cash down to 20th place. Special awards go to the Top Female, Top Senior, Top Under 18, Top Under 13, Top Under 10, the top San Carlos player, and the top PWD player. Registration is ₱500, discounted to ₱400 for senior citizens and ₱350 for players under 13. Free room accommodation is provided for the first 130 players — the first 50 in the air-conditioned clubhouse room, players 51–130 at the Algers Community Center. Think. Fight. Win. Make your move.
