The Aklan Student Chess Club (ASCC), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Kalibo, presents the 1st Bagong Kalibo FIDE-Rated Chess Tournament on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the Civic Center, 2nd floor of the Ati-Atihan Museum, Pastrana Park, Kalibo. Two divisions: Open and U11 & below. 7 rounds, Swiss System, 15 minutes plus a 3-second increment. Opening program at 9:00 AM, Round 1 at 10:00 AM. Limited to 100 slots, strictly no walk-ins. The Open champion takes ₱4,000 and the U11 champion ₱1,500, each with a trophy, medal and an Alfredo Barbershop gift certificate — plus an extra ₱500 from Alfredo Barbershop for both champions. Eight ₱500 special prizes in the Open, and finisher medals for all U8 players.
