The Open 18th Taguig Chess Tournament is a one-day rapid event of the Taguig Chess Club held at the 5th Floor of Barangay Tanyag Hall, Taguig City on Sunday, August 16, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It is a 7-round Swiss played at 15 minutes + 3 seconds increment, open to players rated 1950 and below as of the July 2026 rating list. Registration is ₱500 online or ₱600 on-site. The champion takes ₱4,000 and a trophy, with cash prizes down to 6th place plus Best Kiddie, Best Lady, Best Senior, Best Elementary and Best High School awards. Hon. Mayor Lani Cayetano of Taguig City is the guest of honor at the opening ceremony. The venue is fully air-conditioned and is near Waltermart Bicutan.
