Bing Chess Club opens its first season with a seven-round rapid tournament at the Multipurpose Gym in Sabang, Danao City, Cebu on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Round 1 starts at 10:00 AM. The event is played over the board under the Swiss System at a rapid time control of 10 minutes plus 5 seconds increment per move, with pairings generated by chess pairing software. Three divisions run side by side — Open (all ages), High School, and Elementary — each with its own prize ladder and medals for the top five. Sabang residents play at a discounted rate in any of the three categories. Online registration closes on August 20, 2026; a limited number of onsite slots open on tournament day at the higher onsite rate.

Onsite registration adds ₱50 to every rate. The ₱100 Sabang resident rate applies across all three divisions (₱150 onsite). Online registration and payment close on August 20, 2026.

Onsite entrants receive a half-point bye for Round 1 and join the pairings from Round 2, so their maximum possible score is 6.5 points. PRIZES Cash prizes plus medals for the top five of every division — ₱8,700 total across the three categories. Pay the entry fee. You can pay through the registration flow, or send it by GCash to 0953 319 3485 (Kristel Jean S.). 3. If you pay by direct GCash, send a screenshot of the confirmation together with the player's full name, division, and school (if applicable) to the Bing Chess Club Facebook page or to 0953 319 3485. 4. Registration and payment must be completed by August 20, 2026. 5. Walk-ins may register onsite until 10:30 AM at the onsite rate, paying by cash or GCash.
